Long Street in the City Bowl has been the Cape Town party strip for decades — backpacker hostels, live music, and bars stacked for blocks. Beerhouse, Mama Africa (traditional live music), and The Waiting Room rooftop anchor the walk.
Sea Point on the Atlantic side runs the newer, more polished version — The Gorgeous George hotel's rooftop, La Parada's sangria-and-tapas patio, and the small cocktail bars along Regent Road. Kloof Street in Gardens runs the mid-range indie-bar scene.
Cape Town's 2 AM last call varies by license; club nights in Claremont and Greenpoint run until 4 AM on weekends. Uber is reliable citywide but Long Street is walkable from a central hotel.
